DUM ALOO

INGREDIENTS


  • Potatoes - 600 gm
  • Minced Onions - 2 small
  • Tomato - 1 small
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed - 1/4 tsp
  • Whole red chilli - 2
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Vanasapati - 2 tbsp
  • Mustard Oil - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 3 cups

METHOD

  1. Cook potatoes with 2 cups water. Peel and cut into equal pieces.
  2. Heat oil and vanaspati in a pan.
  3. Add the red chillies, 1/2 tsp cumin seed.
  4. Add onion and fry till brown.
  5. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, sugar, salt, ginger and potato pieces.
  6. Keep stirrig and then toss.
  7. Add tomato and one cup water.
  8. Cook till water is absorbed.
