MUTTON CURRY

INGREDIENTS

  • Mutton - 500 gm
  • Onion(sliced) - 250 gm
  • Tomatoes - 100 gm
  • Curd - 100 gm
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Bay leaves -2
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon - 1 - inch Stick
  • Cardamoms - 6 small
  • Green Chillies - 2
  • Garlic - 8 pods
  • Fenugreek leaves - few
  • Vanaspati -150 gm
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 2 1/2 cups

METHOD

  1. Clean and wash mutton.
  2. Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies.
  3. Heat oil in a cooker. Pour a little oil and add the onions. Cook till they are golden brown.
  4. Add in the ginger-garlic-green chilli paste. Fry till the raw smell is gone.
  5. Add mutton, curd, tomatoes, fenugreek leaves, garam masala, chillies, turmeric powder and salt.
  6. Fry meat till the liquid dries up and continue to roast mutton for naother 5 min.
  7. Add water.
  8. Close lid and allow to cook.
