Channe Ki Dal with Ghiya

INGREDIENTS

  • Channe Ki dal(Split gram) - 1 cup
  • Bottle Gourd (Ghiya) - 1/2 small (peeled and chopped)
  • Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) - 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee or oil -2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato Onion Baghar

METHOD

  1. Pick, clean and wash dal.
  2. Mix dal, ghiya, salt, turmric powder, ghee, red chilli powder and 4 cups water in a pressure cooker.
  3. Pressure cook for 5 minutes on low flame after the first whistle. Remove from fire.
  4. Prepare Tomato Onion Baghar and pour over hot cooked dal. Mix gently. Serve hot.
