Moong Dal with Wadi

INGREDIENTS

  • Dhuli moong dal(split green beans) - 1 cup
  • Wadi - 1
  • Tomato (cut into big pieces) - 1
  • Ginger (grated) - 1" piece
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Jeera Dhania Baghar

METHOD

  1. Fry the Wadi in oil, on low flame, turning sides till it turns golden brown. Cool and break it into 3-4 pieces.
  2. Pick, clean and wash dal.
  3. Add 3 1/2 cups water, salt, turmeric powder, ginger, tomato, fried wadi and the left over oil in which the wadi was fried.
  4. Pressure cook to give one whistle. Remove from fire immediately.
  5. Prepare dhania-jeera bhagar and pou over the hot cooked dal. Mix gently and serve hot.
