Masoor Dal with vegetables

INGREDIENTS

  • Malka masoor dal (Lentils) - 1 cup
  • Onion (cut into rings) - 1
  • Carrot -1
  • Small Cauliflower - 1/4
  • Cloves - 2-3
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) - 1/2 tsp
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Lemon juice - 2tsp
  • Jeera Dhania Baghar

METHOD

  1. Cut cauliflower and carrot into 1/2 inch pieces. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add onions. Fry till light brown.
  2. Add vegetables and laung. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add washed dal. Add salt, turmeric powder and 3 cups water and pressure cook to give one whistle. Remove from fire immediately.
  4. Prepare jeera dhania baghar and pour over the hot dal.
  5. Add lemon juice to dal. Mix and serve hot.
